Hi, I’m Marta. I was born and raised in Italy, Fossombrone, to be precise — a quiet provincial town nestled between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. I return often to see family, breathe in the countryside air, reset by the sea, and enjoy delicious, uncompromised food, observing familiar rhythms of life through cosmopolitan eyes. A Londoner since 1999, I remain a cultural hybrid at heart.
I hold two Master of Science degrees, the most recent in Personalised Nutrition, and bring over two decades of experience as an academic librarian. This background equips me to critically evaluate research and translate complex scientific evidence into clear, practical dietary and lifestyle recommendations. You can count on me to guide you through the often confusing landscape of nutrition information with clarity and integrity.
My approach is both knowledgeable and compassionate. I am a fitness enthusiast with a first-degree black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu, a long-standing Ashtanga Yoga practice (primary series and early intermediate), and a commitment to strength training, an essential tool for preserving muscle mass and bone density as we age.
In 2016, I began experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms and was later diagnosed with a condition known as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). At the time, primary care offered no clear explanation or resolution, prompting me to explore nutritional therapy, a decision that changed the course of my life. Today, a non-invasive diagnostic procedure known as breath testing is routinely used in many NHS gastrointestinal clinics, reflecting how far mainstream healthcare has evolved. With the growing integration of artificial intelligence, the future of personalised care looks even more promising.
SIBO is a complex, multifactorial condition, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Even with expert support, full eradication is not always possible, often due to an underlying compromised terrain rather than a lack of therapeutic skill. I spent years studying alongside full-time work to better understand my own health and to support others navigating similar challenges. If you are struggling with SIBO, remember that rebuilding food tolerance is an essential part of recovery, and for some, periodic fasting may be necessary.
My clinical training has equipped me to go beyond signs and symptoms and look at system biology and functional medicine to investigate the root cause of disease, while my personal interest has steered me towards the latest research evidence for thriving health at any age.
My overarching mission is to empower individuals to cultivate lasting energy and vitality through tailored dietary and lifestyle interventions.
By supporting your digestion, hormonal balance, and aligning daily habits more closely with the needs of your body, we can create the foundations for a thriving healthspan. Let’s work together, wherever you are on your wellbeing journey, I will meet you there.
